Hamilton is Canada's 9th-largest city and has a fleet of about 2,000 vehicles and equipment units. Chris Hill has managed the Central Fleet section since 2004, achieving the first E3 Green Fleet Rating in Canada in 2007 and also registering the Central Garage to the ISO 14001:2004 standard.

Hamilton's Central Fleet is the largest of four City fleets. The others are operated by Fire and EMS, Police and Transit. Central Fleet has 30 technicians working at nine garages, and 26 administrative and support staff. The core mission of Central Fleet is to acquire, maintain and dispose of medium and heavy specialized equipment for municipal operations.

Chris Hill started his career in fleet management in 1974 in Toronto. He has served twice as Ontario Chapter Chair of NAFA Fleet Management Association and is contributing to fleet education in the American Public Works Association. He has been chair of the Canadian Association of Municipal Fleet Managers

Chris is a Certified Management Consultant and has an MBA from the University of Toronto. He lives in Mississauga, Ontario.
